This is for the guys that want to keep tuning simple. No menu's or laptops, just little dials in the box. You can adjust fuel and spark at the low end and WOT. Spark control is done through the airtemp input (you will no longer read airtemp).

It can work as a basic Translator with any chip (spark control and WOT fuel won't work though). The AXiS Interface is basically one step up from a basic Translator.

I have made a special chip for it, the AXiS chip, which enables all the features of the AXiS box. In keeping with the "keep it simple" approach, the chip has NO user adjustable parameters, no worry about disconnecting the battery. The AXiS chip will read to 512 gr/sec, which is good for about mid 10's. You only need one chip for street or race, as you can just dial the spark advance up or down in the box.

The AXiS chip is currently only made for 60lb and 80lb injectors. I will do a couple more calibrations over the summer, probably for 42's and not sure what else yet.

If you still want some adjustable features in the chip, you can get an Extender Extreme chip, but it needs to be special ordered for the AXiS. It will read to 768gr/sec.

Hello Eric I finally took out the Gen 2 & installed the Axis unit & I'm using my 6.0 chip I got in 2009 so quick question for the Brown Wire hookup. Directions say hook up to Tan wire on the Air Temp sensor? I assume that means the Tan & Black Coolant Temp Sensor on the front of the Intake marked #27 on the Sensor locations http://gnttype.org/maint/sensors.html#CONTROLLED
I hooked it up to the Tan wire & left it unplugged but now get a Code 15 Coolant sensor reading Low.
I haven't driven it nor have I unhooked the ECM to clear it yet but I just want to be sure I'm using the right sensor. Thanks

Reading another post & now wondering Do I even hook up the Brown wire with my 6.0 chip?

No, the extra features in the Axis do not work with the 6.0 chip, only the Axis chip. So don't hook up the brown wire.
The Axis box will operate like a basic Translator with your chip.

Eric I appreciate the quick response. One more question regarding the Scanmaster. When I turn on the ignition it flashes version 2.1 as it always has but I just noticed today that now the 2.1 quickly changes to 2.4 before it starts working & I don't think it's ever done that before? Is that related to the Axis unit? If it matters I have Powerlogger installed. Thanks

The Axis is not related to that. Not sure what would cause that.

Good questions, I was also curious. In the 84GN where do I put the brown wire? From what I’m reading there is no air temp sensor in the hot-air cars. Is there a way to connect it so it’s functional?

Yes, it's in the instructions. You will need to connect a wire to pin C11 at the ECM to connect to Axis brown wire. I sent little ECM terminals with it, so you can connect to the ECM connector.

Hey Eric sorry to be a pain in the butt but I’m not too sure where C11 pin is.. and I can’t seem to find any pictures or diagrams that illustrate it. Do you happen to know of a link or something for me to look at?
